| Staff says: Peppoli is the new restaurant at the Spanish Bay Resort in Pebble Beach. It shares the billing with Roy's Restaurant and provides a completely different experience. The service is European style with a team of servers for each table. The captain is in charge of the experience and also serves as the expert in Italian wines. The food is exceptional and the service almost overpowering. There were so many people attending to our needs it got confusing at times. The full bar provides your favorite Martini before dinner. The decor is somewhat disappointing. You can see they used a hotel designer to buy the chairs and decorate the space. No soul. The bright overhead track lighting was overpowering, making this expensive dinner seem like a night at Dennys! The wine is displayed in glass front temperatured controlled units that also have a bright row of lights shinning in you face all night. So don't look for that candle lit romantic dinner, but rather go to enjoy great Italian food with superb wines and service.Avoid the first table for two/four as you enter the dining area, it is a traffic nightmare. Make reservations and get a table by the windows as far from the entrance as possible. Dessert menu is nothing special, but they do offer a cheese plate for after dinner. However, the cheese comes straight from the reefer. So if you enjoy room temperature cheese like you find in France or Italy, ask them to make up the plate when you order your entree. | 11/03/2007
